I handle a wide variety of legal matters, including business disputes and transactions arising from: * "Alternative Dispute Resolution" ("ADR"), including representing private parties before commercial arbitration tribunals like the American Arbitration Association;* "Business Divorce" matters arising from business buy-sell disputes; dissolutions of corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies (“LLCs”); and disputes among partners, shareholders, members and other business principals; *Business torts, including breach of fiduciary duty, misappropriation of trade secrets, unfair competition, fraud and misrepresentation claims; * Commercial breach of contract claims (e.g., commercial collections, sale of business disputes); * Commercial collections and pre-judgment asset seizures (e.g., attachment, garnishment, replevin);* Construction contract claims and disputes; * Employment compensation and covenant not to compete disputesI have considerable experience in provisional remedies and emergency relief (e.g., injunctions, receiverships and pre-judgment asset seizures), in computer technology and/or software disputes and in electronic evidence discovery of Electronically Stored Information (“EED/ESI”) matters. I've been appointed by the Maricopa County (Phoenix) Superior Court as a receiver (in 2005) to take over the affairs of a law firm embroiled in a dispute amongst its partners and as a special master (in 2006) in a limited liability company dissolution matter and as an eDiscovery Special Master (in 2019).

I've been a professional arbitrator and mediator for over 28 years. I'm a Fellow in the College of Commercial Arbitrators, and serve on the arbitration panels of the American Arbitration Association (the “AAA”), the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (“ICDR”) and the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals (“NADN”). I also serve on the AAA’s Commercial, Construction Industry and Large and Complex Case Panels, am a mediator on the AAA’s mediation panel, and was a Founding Arizona Mediator/Arbitrator with the NADN. My peers have included me among the Best of Arizona Attorneys in the Area of Alternative Dispute Resolution (“ADR”) in “Ranking Arizona” (2012), and among Arizona’s Top Rated Lawyers of 2014-present in the areas of ADR, Business and Commercial law in LEGAL LEADERS. I'm a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution ("ADR") Section of the State Bar of Arizona, and co-chaired its Legislative Affairs Subcommittee in helping to pass Arizona's Revised Uniform Arbitration Act (the “RUAA”). My peers regard me as an expert on Arizona arbitration law, and I've chaired and produced the popular Arizona CLE program "Private Arbitration Update" periodically since 1999.
