As the grandson of a sustenance farmer and son of a journeyman lineman who rose up the ranks to lead operations for his company, I had instilled in me from a young age the firm belief that if I want it and work hard for it, I can achieve it. I lived this playing hockey throughout my youth, and as the first in my family to attend university, where I gained a better understanding of my identity, strengths, and weaknesses, and formed a reliable strategy for navigating unfamiliar environments. Professionally I thrive in environments where I’m constantly growing and where there’s pressure to deliver results, be they winning new business, generating leads and revenue, expanding business units, turning around teams, or improving profitability.I learned from my father that while hard work won’t solve every challenge, most challenges won’t be solved without hard work, and that we’re not defined by our successes and failures but by how we respond to them.
