As the grandson of a sustenance farmer and son of a journeyman lineman who rose up the ranks to lead operations for his company, I had instilled in me from a young age the firm belief that if I want it and work hard for it, I can achieve it. I lived this playing hockey throughout my youth, and as the first in my family to attend university, where I gained a better understanding of my identity, strengths, and weaknesses, and formed a reliable strategy for navigating unfamiliar environments.
