Following the acquisition of Sino Gold in 2009, Eldorado became the largest foreign producers of gold in China with the Jinfeng, Tanjianshan and White Mountain mines and the Eastern Dragon project. Based in Vancouver this executive position was accountable for overseeing the safe, efficient, and profitable operation of the company’s three assets in China. With a primary focus on raising operational standards and improving the relationship with the Chinese government and stakeholders, I developed a comprehensive asset management strategy and capital expenditure plan to achieve a 15% increase in outputs in one year.

Founded in 2000 Sino Gold Mining were a gold exploration and mining company with interests in Jinfeng Gold Mine in southern China's Guizhou Province and White Mountain Gold Mine in northeast China's Jilin Province and an undeveloped third gold mine, the Eastern Dragon Mine in Heilongjiang Province. Following record production, Sino Gold was sold to Eldorado Gold Corporation in August 2009. With a focus on improving the operational process, increasing production and enhancing safety, this role was accountable for positioning Sino’s operations for a successful acquisition and managing the operational transition of ownership.

Owned by Nornickel, a Russian nickel and palladium mining and smelting company, Lake Johnston mine consists of an underground sub-level cave mine and concentration plant. Prior to commencing, the mine experienced rock instability resulting in frequent shut downs. Appointed to maximise nickel production, in 2008 we were successful in significantly improving performance from previous years, producing 8,900 tons of nickel by lifting and stabilising mine production and safety performance.
