Representative Accomplishments:—AS A NAFTA CHAPTER 19 BINATIONAL DISPUTE SETTLEMENT PANEL ASSISTANT, RESEARCHED LEGAL ISSUES, AND ORALLY COMMUNICATED RESEARCH FINDINGS TO NAFTA PANELISTS in multi-billion dollar softwood lumber dispute between U.S. and Canada. Participated in the hearing, and in post-hearing deliberations in Calgary and Montreal. Conducted months of extensive legal research, was able to SUCCESSFULLY MEDIATE a consensus among NAFTA Panelists, and was selected to write the opinion of the NAFTA Panel. WROTE OPINION OF THE NAFTA PANEL. —BEAT OUT 100+ U.S. LAWYERS and acquired own client—Ningxia Huahui Activated Carbon Co., Ltd. (“Huahui”)—in a multi-million dollar antidumping investigation before the USDOC involving imports of activated carbon. Worked with lawyers in China to gather facts and evidence to show client was independent from Chinese government. Went to Yinchuan, China, and prepared Huahui for an audit by the USDOC. As a result of success of this audit, Huahui’s merchandise was subject to lower import duties.—MADE ORAL PRESENTATIONS TO LARGE GROUPS on U.S. antidumping laws in Shanghai, Zhongshan, Shenzhen, and Guangzhou, China. —MADE ORAL PRESENTATION on U.S. antidumping laws to business executives at Chery auto in Wuhu, China. At the time, Chery was considering importing their cars into U.S.
