Hillcrest was involved in the publishing, printing and/or distribution of more than 11,000 titles in 10 years through such sites as MillCityPress.net, PublishGreen.com and BookPrinting.com.Hillcrest started as a self-publishing company, but quickly expanded into other areas of publishing, including book printing (bookprinting.com) and ebook conversion and distribution (publishgreen.com). The company's growth required that we build our own publishing workflow management system (PubSmart). Version 3.1 was launched in January 2016. PubSmart included 1,800 separate possible publishing steps, each with corresponding triggers that completed forms, sent emails and created a history of events. In addition to giving authors and publishers control over various aspects of their project and streamlining the management of each job, this tool took an author right through to distribution and aggregated royalty payments.Another piece of interesting software Hillcrest developed was our patent-pending eBook conversion tool, which allowed Hillcrest to simultaneously create multiple eBook formats from a single file. Each format was customized to a specific device, such as the iPad, Kindle, and Nook, ensuring that the complex features and images within the eBook display in the most optimal fashion for each device. The company was sold to Salem Media Group (NASDAQ: SALM) in August 2016. Show less
