Senior Research Program Manager For External Research, Microsoft Research
Defined and drove Microsoft Research's academic external research agenda in the areas of manycore computing and concurrency, virtual machines and managed execution, dynamic languages, and operating systems. Launched Microsoft-Intel sponsored Manycore Computing research centers at two top US universities with funding of $35 million. Defined and executed global research RFPs in managed execution, code generation and analysis, concurrency, and safe and highly scalable multicore computing, funding and managing to fruition over 100 projects. Drove successful IP licensing from funded projects to Microsoft product groups. Rebuilt the Microsoft/ACM Student Research Competition into a vibrant outreach/pipeline program reaching over 500 students and 12 top-tier research conferences annually. Championed projects to improve gender equity in Computer Science education.
