Disaster readiness is vital to a community's vitality during disaster events of varying scales. Vantage Point Consulting, Inc. trains preparedness entities such as health departments, hospitals, preparedness coalitions, and emergency service agencies, organizational preparedness tactics and skills to prepare for such disasters. I currently instruct Crisis and Emergency Risk Communication (CERC) skills to these agencies and aid in the development of their CERC plans so that organizations are ready to distribute vital information throughout all phases of a disaster to more quickly return communities to vitality and well-being.

Participated in a one-week work study at the CDC Emergency Risk Communication branch.Conducted several interviews with subject matter experts throughout various CDC branches on their use of CERC principles in their particular field of study. Compiled data from interviews to enhance instruction methods for both the CDC and the Wayne County Health Department.Instructed CDC staff on module 1 of the CERC manual and presented information on the use of CERC in Indiana to CDC staff. Evaluated module 9 of the CERC manual (CERC, Social Media, and Mobile Media Devices) and provided input to reflect current uses in social media and how they apply to CERC application.

WCTV is Indiana's third largest non-profit Public Access cable television station which airs local and national Public, Governmental, and Educational programs on three local cable channels.
