A strategic search planner and operations manager responsible for responding to and supporting requests for specialist search and rescue skills from Surrey Police. The role demands the highest levels of planning and organisation to assess all available intelligence, formulate a plan and mobilise highly trained SAR volunteers to find high risk vulnerable missing people. This usually all happens at pace to ensure we maximise the time available and find the person concerned. My area of operation is across the entire county of Surrey. The role involves being on call and available 24/7/365 with managed on call / off call rotas set by myself. This is a voluntary position that uses my previous planning and operational management skills / experience. Typically most calls occur late at night and can last up to 6-8hours, or days if the search demands it.
