Here, I represented plaintiffs in personal injury cases, including motor vehicle accidents, medical malpractice, workers’ compensation, wrongful death, and premises liability. My involvement was in every facet of these cases from the beginning client interview to final resolution of the case.A notable case discussed in several blogs throughout the country from my work during this time is Poremba v. S. Nev. Paving, 132 Nev. Adv. Op. 24, 369 P.3d 357, 358 (2016). Here, I advanced a worker’s compensation case from the agency level to the Nevada Supreme Court with my involvement focusing on the interplay and interpretation of statutory workers’ compensation laws and the common law governing tort liability when a worker is injured on the job by an at-fault-third-party. The Nevada Supreme Court agreed with the written and oral arguments that I advanced and the case set precedent for future workers’ compensation claims involving third-party settlements—explaining an injured worker can use his third-party settlement funds on reasonable living expenses in addition to medical care and still be eligible to reopen his workers’ compensation claim in the future.

Completed all stages of litigation to obtain protective orders for victims of domestic violence in civil court.

Conducted legal research and writing to enforce Utah’s Underground Storage Tank Act for the Department of Environmental Response and Remediation (DERR).

Prepared and presented cases in court on behalf of the Utah Office of Recovery Services to collect child support arrears.
