Currently, I serve as the CEO of Datagate Innovation Group, a multinational provider of cloud telecom billing software for MSPs across the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand.Career Highlights:Musician Turned EntrepreneurIn the 1980s, I began my career in music as the lead singer, songwriter, bass player, and founding member of the popular New Zealand band “Satellite Spies.” We had a local hit with the title track of our album “Destiny in Motion” and supported Dire Straits during the New Zealand leg of their “Brothers in Arms” tour in 1986.Early Software VenturesFounded Orbit Software in the 1990s, developing the MS-DOS based SME accounting package “Orbit Accounts.” Sold Orbit Software to PC Direct in 1995, where I served as Information Services Manager and led the development of the innovative Windows client-server ERP solution, “DirectVision.”ERP and Business Software InnovationsCo-created the ERP product Exonet, which became a significant player in the SME business software market across New Zealand, Australia, and Singapore. Exonet was sold to Solution 6 for AU$30M, and was later rebranded as MYOB EXO.Telecom and SAP SolutionsCo-founded Datasquirt in 2001, which went public on the Australian stock exchange in 2007. Founded Enprise in 2002, becoming New Zealand's largest MYOB EXO reseller. Under my leadership, Enprise acquired EMS Cortex and built a global SAP Solution Partner business. EMS Cortex was acquired by Citrix Systems in 2011, and Datasquirt was sold to LiveOps for US$12.5M.Advisory RolesServed as a founding member and Chairman of the SAP Business One Global Solution Partner Advisory Council (SPAC), advising SAP on global SME market strategies.Current FocusSince stepping down as CEO of Enprise Group in 2015, I have dedicated my efforts to leading Datagate Innovation, focusing on providing innovative cloud telecom billing solutions for MSPs.
