•Planned, coordinated and automated many parts of the HealthPartners Data Center Move for all Unix Systems; Architected and implemented servers for Electronic Dental Records; Architected and implemented a Unix Based Event Management Solution which coordinated with existing Enterprise systems and processes; Led the Unix Standards Committee through the architecture, design and development of a standards and documentation system with automated auditing of system standards and exceptions; Automated validation of PPRC replication of volumes against system requirements; and Performed Disaster Recovery planning for all Unix Systems.

Assessed viability of and developed test procedures for a software distribution and asset management system used to support globally deployed medical equipment; Performed physical architecture for a HIPAA transaction system and a credit risk data warehouse system; Performed a backup assessment for major retail chain; Customized a Remedy Action Request System (ARS) based Change Control system; Managed projects involving multiple staff members deployed at client sites;Provided pre-sales support to business development staff; Managed eleven Minneapolis based and three Milwaukee based system engineers on an interim basis; and Implemented Unix servers for clients.

Supervised all support of over thirty Unix-based enterprise servers (Compaq/Digital Tru64 Unix, HP-UX, Solaris, and IBM AIX); Supervised eleven Unix System Administrators; Coordinated Year 2000 testing of Unix systems; Conducted studies for selecting a primary Unix platform and selecting performance management software; Established and implemented system standards for uniform system configurations; Implemented local Change Control procedures for the Unix group; Implemented local best practices for all Unix system implementations; and Planned a major Unix systems consolidation effort.

Planned, designed, implemented and maintained Sun Solaris and Microsoft Windows NT primary servers; Prepared procedures for and directed installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of almost 500 client systems consisting of SunOS, Microsoft Windows NT 3.5.1 and 4.0, MS/DOS, Microsoft Windows 3.1, Microsoft Windows 95, Macintosh, serial terminals, and a wide variety of computer peripherals and communications equipment; and Architected, designed, implemented, and maintained the support management system (used for asset control, work flow management, integrated automation of routine maintenance procedures, system documentation, knowledge-base repository, etc.) and other support related tools.

Managed the Administrative Building LAN (which included Ethernet, FDDI, and LocalTalk Links using TCP/IP and AppleTalk) that supported approximately 300 networked nodes; Performed network system administration for SunOS Servers; and MS-DOS, Windows 3.1, and Macintosh clients; Led the creation of a computing support structure for all administrative units at the University; and Acted as a liaison between Telecommunications Group and administrative personnel.

Performed network system administration for all departmental Sun SPARCstations, MS-DOS, Windows 3.1, and Macintosh computers, and all associated peripherals; Led programming and administrative team responsible for 60 volunteer consultants; Installed and maintained a wide variety of system, application, and support software; Developed systems software for SunOS, MS/DOS, and Macintosh computers; Provided technical support to users and consultants; and Trained students, faculty and staff on use of applications and equipment.

Repaired a variety of electronics equipment while serving on board the repair tender USS Ajax;Independently maintained the shipboard communications center on board USNS H. H. Hess for two years while serving with Oceanographic Unit Three; Maintained a microwave communications center for two years while serving at Headquarters Armed Forces Southern Europe located in Naples, Italy; and Attended training for Electronics, Cryptographic Equipment Maintenance, Micro-Miniature Electronic Repair Class ‘C’ School, Overseas Diplomacy Training, Damage Control School, etc.
