Provided squadron oversight in the absence of the commander.• Coordinated base-wide Savings Bond Campaign, achieving over 95% contact of 4900 personnel including deployed personnel.Chief, Pharmaceutical Research, Clinical Investigation Facility, 60th Medical Group, Travis Air Force Base, CA (1993-1997)Responsible for facilitating medication-related research within the Air Forces’ second largest medical center. Activities included protocol development, informed consent document development, subject randomization, dosage preparation and dispensing. Monitored compliance with FDA, Department of Defense, Air Force and Joint Commission standards regarding use of human subjects. • Published Investigational Drug Data Sheets, providing important safety and administration information regarding investigational agents. Idea “borrowed” by other Air Force facilities.• Developed and implemented plan to monitor training for investigational medication per new Joint Commission requirement; first in the Air Force.Chief, Pharmacy Information Services, 81st Medical Group, Keesler Air Force Base, MS (1990-1993)Provided drug information and pharmacy computer systems support within the Air Forces’ third largest medical facility. Responsible for pharmacy portion of hospital-wide integrated information system and related medication use reports.• Provided responses to Air Force Surgeon General’s Office during Operation DESERT STORM.• Maintained NIH investigational drug supply and accountability. A Pediatric Oncology Group site surveyor specifically remarked on the quality of program.
