o Project lead for 4 concurrent projects that involved Foglight remediation, storage testing, fusion monitoring and NetCache implementation.o Foglight remediation – Two phased project with initial objectives to tune all Foglight systems that meets USi standards and thereafter migrate the remaining clients to Oasis, a custom developed USi monitoring solution. As the project lead, it was my responsibility to analyze, design, develop and implement the alerts needed for our Oracle 11i environments through Foglight. Once Foglight was stabilized, I lead the second phase to implement Oasis on remote clients. The project required working closely with Oracle DBAs and clients to resolve issues. Another aspect of this project was to perform a gap analysis between the two monitoring systems for future development. Gave regular status to USi and client executives.o Global Unified Storage (GUS) Testing – USi acquired a new storage solution to meet the needs of cost and performance while offering a consistent solution to their client base. There were several vendor storage products (3Par, Compellent, and EVA) brought in to undergo rigorous testing efforts. As the Oracle project lead, our objective was to put an 11i ERP load on the servers and new storage devices and capture metrics for comparison. This process required first cloning an Oracle database on three different types of platforms – UNIX, Linux, and Pinnacle (VMware Linux Guest OS). Thereafter tuned and executed custom shell, PL/SQL, and perl scripts that generated an Oracle ERP load for heavy I/O activity against the 11i tables. Worked closely with a DBA to analyze the results. Gave regular status to USi executives.o NetCache implementation – After the NetCache device was configured in-house and deployed to the client site, the engineering objective was to set up and test SNMP traps and syslog messages to integrate to our environment through NetCool and into Oasis.

Nine engagements / projects over the course of employment. Below is a partial list:1. 6 week engagement to work on a new Customer Centric Application that entails developing custom Load Runner scripts for performance and load tests.2. 3 week engagement, I was brought in to troubleshoot and determine the problems involved with a production workflow application. During this project, I developed several Load Runner scripts to run load tests against the application on the testing environment. In conjunction with creating and executing the load tests, I also set up a performance monitoring tool, Site Scope. By analyzing the load test results, monitor statistics and reviewing the code with developers, I was able to determine the causes of the performance problems involved with the application.3. Successfully installed and configured a production monitoring tool, Foglight. The cartridges I installed and integrated into the existing Peoplesoft application servers and WebLogic web servers. In addition, I created many scripts that were automated to proactively monitor and track service level agreements that match end user requirements.4. Implemented performance and load testing utilizing the Load Runner application against Nextel’s production servers including WebLogic, Peoplesoft, & Oracle servers.5. Lead a team for various interfaces of the Ensemble implementation testing effort, including financial, collections, inventory control, fraud, and data warehouse interfaces. The testing involved change requests, enhancement requests, and regression testing.6. Lead a team of two in the development of the Woolly Mammoth production website to include payments, credit card validation, and error checking using php technologies. The team developed a tremendous amount of functionality in a short period of time.

EXpressOM – Telecom Order Management System: This product is a web based GUI application dealing with Sales Order management, Work flow management, Customer Management, and Process Management. I was the developer of the XML Schema as the middle tier between the database and application. I also created the XSLT style sheets for printing orders. My data warehousing tasks included populating several tables and views with pl/sql stored procedures for generating and designing crystal reports.

Dashboard 2.0 – Web-based Management Tool: This software features product matching, business rules, account management, real-time reporting, and advanced searching. Led a team through the software development life cycle process for the enhanced version of the dashboard. The reporting section featured new calculations based on total clickthroughs, clickthrough rates, products matched and served, sales conversion, and total sales. The supervised matching section was a powerful tool that matches user profile and business rules against the products in the database.

EFed v. 2.0, 3.0 – E-commerce government procurement system: COTS web-based product solution for easy comparison and purchasing of products and services. My responsibility was to develop parsing routines for receiving, formatting, and loading mass amounts of data into several different oracle databases. The data feeds came from numerous vendors and was exchanged via ftp, email and http. The parsing routines were perl and Java programs that utilize DBI, JDBC, and SQL Loader utilities. DBA tasks ranged from creating oracle databases, tables, and indexes to setting up and maintaining the tablespace and segment files. Developed automated scripts for running stored SQL procedures that triggering java apps and perl programs.
