Mark Maslin FRGS, FRSA is a Professor of Earth System Science at UCL and the Natural History Museum of Denmark. He was a founding Director of Rezatec Limited. He is currently a CSR Board member of Sopra-Steria, advisor to Net Zero Now and Sheep Included Ltd and a member of the Climate Crisis Advisory Group. Mark is a leading scientist with particular interest in understanding the climate change and the major challenges facing humanity in the 21st century. He has published over 190 papers in journals such as Science, Nature, and The Lancet, 58 of which have been cited over 100 times. He has received research, consultancy and training funding worth over £75m from government, charities, NGOs and the private sector. Mark has written 10 books and over 60 popular articles and regularly appears on radio and television, including BBC One David Attenborough’s ‘Climate Change: the facts’. His books include ‘Climate Change: A Very Short Introduction’ (2021), ‘The Cradle of Humanity’ (2019), ‘The Human Planet’ with Simon Lewis (2018/2022) and his latest book is ‘How to save our planet: the facts’ (2021). This popular articles on The Conversation have been read over 5.5 million times.Professor Maslin has presented talks at Hay Festival of Literature & Arts, Edinburgh International Book Festival , New Scientist Live, UNFCCC COP meetings, Tate Modern, Royal Society of Medicine, Fink Club, Frontline Club, British Museum, Google UK, Twitter, Natural History Museum, Goldman Sachs, WTO, TEDx London, Royal Society, and provide the keynote at the Global Leaders Forum in South Korea along with Ban Ki-Moon in 2019. Maslin was also a co-author of the Lancet 2009 report ‘Managing the health effects of climate change’ and co-author of the annual Lancet Countdown report on 'Climate Change and Global Health'. He was included in Who’s Who in 2009, made a Royal Society Industrial Fellow in 2012 and was granted a five year Royal Society Wolfson Research Merit Award in 2011.
