Chief, Ballistic Missile Defense for the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command. TRADOC Capability Manger (TCM) for the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS), a national strategic level priority and multi-service, $23 billion dollar program. Assigned to both USASMDC/ARSTRAT and Joint Functional Component Command for Integrated Missile Defense/US Strategic Command serving as the Army and Joint manager of Doctrine, Organizations, Training, Material, Leadership, Personnel, and Facilities (DOTMLPF) requirements. DoD lead service integrator within the Joint warfighting community and Missile Defense Agency (MDA). Coordinates with MDA, OSD, Joint Staff, Service Staffs, and Geographic Combatant Commands to ensure timely and complete fielding of the BMDS capability that defends our Nation, Allies and deployed forces. Also performs duty as USASMDC/ARSTRAT Liaison Officer to the Military District of Washington.

Counter-Rocket, Artillery, and Mortar (C-RAM) Chief, responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing C-RAM Sense & Warn and Intercept operations in support of Multi-National Corps-Iraq (MNC-I) and for integrating these new capabilities into the joint and combined arms fight to defeat enemy indirect fire. Duties include providing C-RAM specific leadership, direction, and support to five C-RAM Batteries over 15 dispersed locations. Lead MNC-I staff integration for C-RAM operations and providing both direction and prioritization to the C-RAM Program Management Office, U.S. Army TRADOC for DOTMLPF development, and Army Staff. Integrates counter-rocket efforts with three U.S. Army, two coalition, and one Marine Division-level Headquarters executing counter insurgency operations in the Iraqi theater of operations. Lead and supervised a battalion tactical command post TACON to MNC-I.

Commander of a forward-deployed PATRIOT Air Defense Artillery Brigade organic to 5th Corps and attached to the 1st Infantry and 1st Armor Divisions. Responsible for the leadership, readiness, training, sustainment, and welfare of 1500 Soldiers and their families. Plan, organize, and execute Theater Air and Missile Defense (TAMD) operations in support o f5th Corps, North Atlantic Treaty Organization, and assigned U.S. Central Command and U.S. European Command (USEUCOM) contingency missions that include the defense of the nation of Israel. Advise the Division Command on all facets of TAMD planning, operations and employment. Oversee and manage an annual budget of over $12 million and military equipment valued in excess of $750 million. Maintain supportive relationship with the local German community. Also serves as the Joint Task Force Deputy Commander for a USEUCOM TAMD contingency mission. Included a 3 month deployment and training exercise with Israel, a U.S. strategic coalition partner.

Chief for the Combat Identification and Assessment Branch, Command and Control Division of the J6 Directorate, Joint Staff. Directs studies and analysis of U.S. combat identification issues and force structure recommendations to the Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff. Prepares comprehensive net assessments of U.S. combat identification capabilities to support the Functional Capability Board (FCB) process. Employs tactical experience, operational knowledge, and strategic planning methodologies to assess analytical results on joint warfighting issues. Coordinates activities with the respective staffs of the Services, the Office of the Secretary of Defense, and Combatant Commanders. Presents results to the Defense Department’s senior leadership. Also detailed to combined Joint Staff-JointForces Command to run their Command and Control FCB. Investigated U.S. Army fratricide incidents in Iraq.

Commander of a U.S. Forces Command Air Defense Artillery Battalion missioned to 3rd U.S. Army. Provides a combat ready battalion comprised of five PATRIOT Firing Batteries, A Direct Support Maintenance Company, and a Headquarters and Headquarters Battery with an authorize strength of 775 Soldiers and over 300 vehicles and equipment valued at over $176.2B. Responsible for the training, readiness, Soldier and family are, maintenance, discipline and morale of assigned Soldiers and families. Plans and executes both tactical and contingency operations for the battalion. Ensures the battalion remains combat ready to provide theater air and missile defense in support of 3rd U.S. Army contingency missions. Responsible for an annual operating budget of over $4M. Supports the Fort Bliss and local communities. Included a 6 month deployment to a hostile fire zone in the Middle East.

System Integrator in the Air and Missile Defense Division, Force Development Directorate, Army Staff G3 for High and Medium Altitude Air Defense systems including the Joint Land Attack Cruise Missile Elevated Netted Sensor (JLENS) and Medium Extended Air Defense System (MEADS). Responsible for integrating total Army force requirements in terms of materiel, doctrine, training, organization, an logistics for Joint and Army Corps air defense systems. Ensures system requirements and priorities are met in both Army and Department of Defense (DoD) planning, programming, and budgeting processes. Prepares, coordinates, and represents Army Air Defense actions and issues in preparation of Army positions. Represents the Army at DoD, joint Staff, and subordinate commands. Performs additional duties as assigned.

Operations Officer of a forward deployed Air Defense Artillery Brigade assigned to U.S. Army Europe with a North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and world-wide contingency mission. Responsible for all matters concerning operations, training, plans, organization, force modernization and tactical deployment of 2 Patriot battalions (1550 people), a headquarters battery (85 people) and organic Multi-Subscriber Equipment signal company (120 people). Provide and supervise a combat ready brigade fire direction center, tactical operations center and reconnaissance team. Directly supervise the 4 man Brigade chemical section. Advises the Brigade Commander on all matters affecting the organization’s training, operations, and readiness. Included a 2 month deployment to a hostile fire zone in the Middle East.

Executive Officer of a North Atlantic Treaty Organization based, 792 Soldier Patriot Air Defense Artillery Task Force deployed throughout wartime positions in a hostile fire zone within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Monitors and maintains a high state of readiness for 6 firing batteries, headquarters battery and direct support maintenance company comprised of 300 tactical vehicles, $450 million in equipment and over a $9 million annual budget. Directs, supervises and coordinates a 460 kilometer geographically separated staff. As the Deputy Task Force Commander, charged with the continuous combat readiness of 3 firing batteries and a direct support maintenance company detachment, including the force protection of 411 Soldiers and responsive care of their families. Principle advisor to the Task Force Commander.

Operations officer of a 523 person, forward deployed Patriot Air Defense Artillery battalion with a North Atlantic Treaty Organization and a world-wide contingency mission. Responsible for all aspects of operations, plans, organization, training, and tactical deployment of 3 firing batteries, a headquarters battery, and a maintenance company. Responsible for operating a battalion tactical operations center and fire direction center consisting of 19 Soldiers and several million dollars in equipment. Directly responsible for planning, coordination, and execution of the Soldier and leader development programs which trains and certifies the battalion as capable of conducting its combat mission as well as protecting the force. Supervises the battalion chemical and communications-electronics sections. Provides guidance, training, and assistance to the battalion battle staff and unit commanders. Advises the Battalion Commander on all matters affecting the organization’s training, operations, and readiness. Included the training and certification for a 6 month deployment to a hostile fire zone in the Middle East.

Assistant Professor providing quality collegiate engineering training to future military and national leaders while acting as mentor and professional role model, and assisting with cadet development. Evaluates cadet academic and professional performance. Responsible for all aspects of instruction in electrical engineering and computer science courses with an annual department enrollment exceeding 2600 cadets. Director for advanced course in electrical circuit theory with an annual enrollment of 83 cadets and laboratory equipment of $450 thousand. Develops instructional material covering complex scientific and engineering concepts. Provides strategic planning for the computer engineering laboratory assets valued in excess of $250 thousand.
