About Mark M.
I graduated from Athlone Institute of Technology (now the Technical University of the Shannon) having studied both computer and software engineering including 8051 MCU embedded systems, JAVA development (Android and Desktop), Linux system administration, Software Design Patterns and Test Driven Development, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering in 2013 and a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering in 2014. I graduated with a GPA of 68.25% and attained first class honours grades in 7 of the 12 modules that I took in my final year.Upon graduation, I commenced work as a Software Consultant with Guidewire Software Inc. In 2016, I was promoted to the position of Software Consultant II and, in 2018, to the position of Senior Software Consultant. At Guidewire. I have worked on two ClaimCenter Upgrade projects, the second of which I worked with the client onsite for 5 weeks, one ClaimCenter cloud implementation and various Upgrade Assessments during which I developed the first iteration of an internal JAVA tool for analysing customer changes in the applications and also provided static code analysis. During my final 12 months at Guidewire I worked on implementing new features in the Guidewire Intellij upgrade plugin. Outside of project based work, I have written documentation and python code for development, testing setup and maintenance of WebSphere Clusters, Intellij Plugin for use with Java Webapp development which provided SOAP UI like functionality to interface with Java Webapps as well as functionality to view its database tables. I am a Linux and KVM enthusiast for almost a decade and am very familiar writing bash and python scripts to configure the kernel (SR-IOV devices, vfio and performance optimizations) and configuring my Virtual Machines (using libvirt hooks or through its API).

Surepath Configuration And Integration Developer
In this role I worked on maintaining existing functionality and implementing new functionality in Guidewire Software's Intellij upgrade plugin which was a key component to upgrading the applications i.e. using the Intellij abstract syntax tree API to flag code which did not meet our standards and where possible to upgrade the code automatically.

In this role I worked on the Guidewire Software's first cloud implementation project for MetLife, working directly with their Business analysts to clarify and then implement the requirements. I then worked on another ClaimCenter upgrade project for Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company, Nationwide also deployed to WebShpere and so my previous experience with it on the MSA project was beneficial, I joined the client on-site in Arizona for both inception and go-live working directly with relevant stakeholders to meet standards and implement the required functionality.

In this role I worked on a ClaimCenter upgrade project for Main Street America, upgrading their application code for compatibility with the version 8 release of the Guidewire Software platform as well as working directly with their business analysts to implement new functionality. MSA used WebSphere for application hosting and so I also developed python scripts to manage the deployment to the WebSphere clusters. I joined the project just after inception and was the last member to leave after go-live.
