Mark's career in architecture began in 1984 when he traded in his industrial welding hood and respirator for a shirt and tie in a new world with Vigen and Associates, a Central Valley architectural firm where he learned the essentials: "Work hard, use your heart".Since then Mark has worked for a number of Bay Area architectural firms before finally starting his own practice "BROADREACH architecture and planning" in 1997.BROADREACH has been providing quality, value-driven planning and architectural services to Delta and Bay Area clients ever since. We are acutely aware of cost control, quality control, and schedule issues that can have huge impacts on your project.On Listening...As a certified mentor for the Solano County Mentoring Collaborative and weekly mentor for the Rio Vista C.A.R.E. organization, I believe that being a good human being is good business. In working with troubled children, the most important skill necessary is the ability to listen; sometimes beyond spoken words. Not coincidentally, I believe that architecture should reflect the soul of the client, and I believe that being a good listener is the way to achieve this. My design process is very much collaborative, with mutual respect for clients and others associated with the team.On Design...I believe that every project should be sensitive to it's environment.
