Out of a love for the gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ, I work in various places in society and church as a theologian. After a bachelor's degree in Theology at the University of Groningen, I followed a master's degree in Theology and Ministry at the Protestant Theological University (cum laude). As a theologian, I am specialized in Biblical Studies (New Testament) and Systematic Theology (Ethics). During my studies, I worked for a year as Assessor of the Executive Board of the University of Groningen, and as a founder and pioneer in the fresh expression of Church 'Overstag' in the city of Groningen. In 2019 I was proclaimed Young Theologian of the Netherlands On January 31, 2021 I was confirmed as pastor of the Brug-Es Church in Dwingeloo. There I work for 0.7 fte as a church minister. In addition to my work as a preacher, I am active in various places in society: I am a regular guest at the Theology Podcast of KokBoekencentrum, I write a column in the Nederlands Dagblad, I give lectures and advise organizations. Since the autumn of 2022 I have been a pioneer at 'Missie Westerveld', a project that explores how the churches in the municipality of Westerveld (ZW Drenthe) can have a sustainable and innovative presence in the villages.
