I joined Malthouse Engineering as the Marketing Manager, my role grew over the years to include a range of functions. The Malthouse Engineering Group is diverse and includes a number of related firms. We provided consultancy services for SMEs based in the black country. Predominantly this was focussed on digital marketing and website development.

Concurrent with my role at Malthouse Engineering I led the acquisition, with the support of the MD at Malthouse Engineering, of a failed company to set up Cundey Systems Ltd. I raised the initial investment and then became responsible for the overall management of the business.I was responsible for- Financial management of the company including– Payroll, VAT recording, Year-end auditing and running the P&L account- Administration of the company to ensure compliance with legal and statutory requirements- Sourcing and negotiating with suppliers to supply on a stock or just in time basis in order to reduce stock held- Commissioning research to identify overseas markets and distributors- Creation (design, copy writing, sourcing of printers) of marketing and sales material including machine catalogue, website, direct mail, leaflets, adverts in trade publications and press releasesAchievements- Improved profit margins by 40% when I became responsible for general management of sales of the business- Creating partnerships with related organisation to offer unique services in the industry

The ADBN was a cluster of 15-20 engineerng/manufacturing firms. I led a 2 year project to embed digital marketing and innovative working practices within its members. The project generated £1.5m of benefits for its members and was awarded a Lord Stafford Award for Innovation.
