SSA Product Line Manager Fluids and Metering – Expro (Expro is an Oil Field Services Company)I am in charge of delivering the company financial, strategic and management objectives for the Fluids and Meters product lines in Sub Saharan Africa (SSA). Since the oil price crash in 2014, SSA has experienced a severe contraction in Exploration and Appraisal activity. This has necessitated me to look at deploying our existing E&A service offering and attempt to align it with a production focus in a very price sensitive environment. I have done this through building relationships with customers from asset and country managers to technical experts and leaders in global head offices, understanding their needs and combining different technologies and services. The skills gained are in finding compromises that still allow delivery of the required services and data. This is achieved through a flexible commercial strategy and understanding the technical requirements and challenges.Our Metering product line, comprises of a new technology, clamp on SONAR metering. I have had to build the business through identifying and focusing on key markets, targeting applications identified by talking to customers, negotiating the commercial (set the strategy) then delivering a high quality service via our global support team and developing our local personnel. I am also part of the senior management in the region, and actively participate in balanced score card, HSEQ, quality audits, and developing a QMS system. I recently championed a hand safety initiative involving magnetic stickers to identify pinch points during risk assessment.

Technical Specialist (Fluids Forward Program) - ExproThe Fluids Forward Program is a product line manager training program for the Fluids product line. I received training in the technical aspects of the Metering, Sampling and Analysis services offered while working in the three technical centres and running services in the field. In addition, I performed, and was trained, in operations management, logistics, financial and business development functions. I was required to prepare and submit and number of reports as well as to give presentations, I also was involved in some R&D activities.

South And East Africa

Working as a well tester and sampler in Africa. Rig up, operate and maintain well test equipment in the field as well as performing maintenance in the base. My role as a sampler involved running downhole tools both on slick line and tubing carrier systems. I also performed maintenance on the tools. I was also responsible for ordering spares and consumables as well as preparing packages for different jobs.
