Responsible for managing and executing proposals for many different business opportunities, including: oilsands produced water, lithium production, flue gas desulfurization blowdown, demineralization of seawater for boiler feedwater, bulk chemicals, and other zero/reduced liquid discharge systems comprising evaporators, crystallizers, membranes, and associated equipment.Proposal efforts have included: managing teams of local and remote (including international) engineers and other personnel, travel to customer locations for technical and commercial negotiations, costing of equipment and labor, production of engineering drawings and specifications, writing of proposal documents, contract review and commercial analysis. Liaison between sales, engineering, finance, sourcing, project management, and business management. Successfully pursued numerous business opportunities ranging up to $20million USD in value (engineering contract and proprietary equipment supply - not including basic equipment supply or installation).Experienced with necessary sales tools, SalesForce, and highly detailed cost modeling spreadsheets and databases.Note: GE Water & Process Technologies was acquired by SUEZ Water Technologies & Solutions in 2017. My job was basically the same before and after the ownership change.

Process Engineer responsible for process design and construction management of groundwater treatment system, including drawing and specification review, submittal review, coordination with subcontractors and vendors, onsite system startup and operation, and production of operation and maintenance (O&M) manual for project addressing arsenic releases from a 13-acre woodwaste landfill.The remedy included design and construction of a subsurface barrier wall, groundwater interceptor system, infiltration ponds, groundwater recovery and treatment, contaminated sediment removal, and in situ treatment of arsenic in groundwater. A new building houses a groundwater treatment system consisting of pH control, oxidation, settling, filtration, arsenic adsorption, solids handling including filter press, chemical injection systems, and a programmable logic controller (PLC) control system.

Worked on various projects involving drinking water treatment, industrial and municipal wastewater treatment, and other process engineering. Design of treatment systems, instrumentation, piping, etc. Significant field startup and operations experience.Two examples of interesting projects are:Lead Process Engineer - At the Coast Guard Station on Kodiak Island, AK, examined water and wastewater treatment plants and associated structures, and evaluated treatment systems. Designed water treatment system improvements, including: replacement of deteriorated horizontal sand filters with new vertical sand filters utilizing air scour-assisted backwash, modifications of chemical injection system to minimize use and maximize effectiveness of water treatment chemicals. A 500-year storm event in October 2009 required a trip onsite to perform jar and pilot testing to re-evaluate treatment chemicals and filtration capacity, making the system significantly more complex. Assisted with CM. Managed instrumentation/controls subcontractor. Regularly corresponded with USCG, construction contractor, and State of Alaska. Travelled onsite to assist with first phase of plant startup.Project Manager, Lead Process Engineer - South Whidbey School District owns and operates a well water system which has iron and manganese at levels that discolor the water and result in greater chlorine demand and lower chlorine residual levels in the water supply system. Performed pilot tests to determine the most appropriate and feasible treatment process for the well to meet SWSD’s water quality objectives for iron, manganese, H2S, ammonia, and chlorine residual. Due to influence of organic carbon on iron precip, determined that an ozonation-filtration process is required to treat the water. Design and construction management of the treatment system consisting of a CMU building, ozonation system, chemical injection system, filtration system, and backwash water disposal system.

2002 - Process Engineer, Ouachita Power Generation Facility, Sterlington, Louisiana, Cogentrix Energy, Inc. Was part of a team of four that executed the PTC46 plant performance test of an 800MW gas turbine fired combined-cycle power plant. Purchased, installed, calibrated, tested, and tore down all aspects of test instrumentation, including gas chromatograph, RTDs, thermistors, barometers, psychrometers, Rosemount pressure/flow transmitters, fuel gas sampling station, and Fluke Hydra data acquisition network.2000 to 2002 - Process Engineer, Kendall County Power Generation Facility, Minooka, Illinois, LS Power. Was a member of the team which designed an 1100 MW gas turbine fired combined-cycle power plant located in Minooka, Illinois. Responsible for producing detailed heat balance calculations and performance test documentation, as well as specifying various process equipment and instrumentation. Then mobilized onsite to the power plant for six months to assist with startup, commissioning and testing of combined-cycle trains and associated water treatment equipment.

Was a member of the team which designed four interconnected offshore oil platforms to be located in Bohai Bay, China. The topsides equipment was designed to process 40,000 bpd of waxy, heavy crude oil, up to 56,000 bpd of produced water, and 5 MMscfd of produced gas.Produced heat and material balances and process design using HYSYS software, assisted with piping and instrumentation diagrams, sized and selected equipment including separators, tanks, pumps, pipes, and instrumentation.
