My work at ING focused on arranging project finance transactions in the energy sector to support both greenfield construction and acquisitions of existing assets, including geothermal, solar (both utility-scale and distributed), hydro, wind and natural gas-fired power generation facilities in North America (PJM, NYISO, ERCOT, ISO-NE):• Designed suitable credit structure in consultation with sponsor and internal management via development and evaluation of financial model, consultant reports, and market research.• Prepared comprehensive credit analyses and presented the same internally to credit risk management.• Negotiation, drafting and review of documentation through every phase of the transaction process, from engagement letter / term sheet to final loan agreement.• Assisted with syndication on underwritten deals: presented structure, coordinated Q&A, managed closing. • Monitored distressed transactions and evaluated restructuring options.• Developed proprietary internal power and capacity forecasts for selected gas projects in PJM.• Primary team member that trained junior analyst pool (typically 2-4 analysts).Selected experience:• In 2017, spearheaded financings for two PJM natural gas-fired acquisitions totaling > $500m of debt.• Worked with a developer to build a representative pro forma for a portfolio of residential rooftop solar installations; portfolio was financed by a combination of equity, tax equity and debt and was one of the first transactions to apply the project finance model to distributed solar. Initially worked on every solar financing at ING to educate both junior and senior team members about residential solar financing.

My consulting work for Filsinger Energy Partners (FEP) focused on an interim management and acquisition support during the management and eventual sale of two bankrupt ethanol facilities in Iowa. This included:• Management of due diligence requests to ensure prompt, accurate response to over 100 inquiries from the purchaser• Worked on audit team performing forensic accounting on over 400 transactions to determine if there were inconsistencies between the production unit and the sales unit• Developed corn inventory model in Microsoft Excel to continuously forecast corn inventory levels and assess stock out risk• Completed comprehensive IT inventory of both facilities IT systems, compiling detailed information on entire computer infrastructure• Supervised a final plant inventory at closing as senior debt's representative to determine the final sale price• Organized and cataloged digital and hard copy company documents to ensure proper documentation was provided to purchaser, while retaining confidential informationWork also included various research and analytical tasks unrelated to the Iowa ethanol facilities project, including:• Developed a cash flow forecast for a natural gas-fired power plant. This included analyzing revenue streams from merchant sales and contract sales over the lifespan of the facility.• Conducted research into emerging energy trends to develop a power market presentation• Performed asset valuations of distressed projects (discounted cash flow / comparables analysis)

I interned within the Construction Services Division of JR Engineering, helping the team perform a wide variety of construction planning, preparation and oversight tasks. This included:• Conducted site inspections, quality control checks, closeout punch lists and compliance audits• Monitored project cost and schedule performance through quantity and volume tracking on numerous simultaneous projects• Received and coordinated responses to over 40 contractor Requests for Information (RFIs)• Assembled project closeout reports containing over 1000 pages of project related documents• Reviewed over 20 contract bid proposals to check accuracy and analyze competitiveness• Verified quantities and pricing for 50 different Design Change Notifications (DCNs)
