In addition to my previous responsibilities, I oversee all the estates that Make-A-Wish receives, including communicating with attorneys and executors, facilitating the completion of brokerage firm paperwork, staying apprised of our estates in litigation and maintaining records of all of it. It’s crazy but I love it. I continue to have the privilege of assisting our chapters any way I can. I love offering support and advice as chapters build out their planned giving programs and solicit planned gifts. And don’t worry, I still fundraise and build relationships with our lifetime and legacy donors. They are the lifeblood of our mission and getting to know them is one of the blessings of being a fundraiser.

In addition to my previous responsibilities, I managed our enterprise-wide endowment program and assisted my Director and General Counsel by reviewing and providing insights on wills, trusts and court documents we received. I earned my Yellow and Green Belts in LEAN Six Sigma by streamlining a complex process for endowment management and distribution.

The stars truly aligned and I was able to join the mission that I loved while also using my legal knowledge and passion for estate planning. I couldn’t believe it was called “work.” My role centered around three constituencies:(1) Donors – I got to know so many incredible and generous donors who left gifts to us in their estate plans that will impact the mission for decades. (2) Chapters – I helped our chapters find ways to secure new planned gifts and steward the donors who already had made a planned gift. (3) Financial Professionals – I collaborated with charitable-minded professionals who helped their clients meet their philanthropic goals through legacy gifts to Make-A-Wish.

Whenever a child with a critical illness was referred to Make-A-Wish Arizona, I had the privilege (with another volunteer Wish Granter) to sign up to visit the child and his/her family. Our job was to help the Wish Kid determine what his/her one true wish is, and then the magical staff at the chapter made that wish come true! It was an incredible season of my life and is what got me drinking the Make-A-Wish Kool-Aid. Hopefully another season will present itself in the future so I can do it again!

This was my first job right out of law school. I was literally extended a job offer while walking out of the bar exam. It was such a blessing! I was mentored by incredible attorneys and developed relationships of trust with my clients. I went home each night knowing I had done meaningful work that day.

Oversaw all teller line activities within the financial center, including transactions, customer interactions, and customer service issues.

Performed all tasks assigned by President and CEO. Did anything and everything to help the CEO look good.
