Professionally: Colorado CPA with a Masters Degree in Accounting and a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics. My career started as a successful computer programmer, but after getting married and buying a house, I decided to take the H&R Block Tax course. It changed the direction of my career.I love numbers and logic. Enjoyment is derived when taking complex data and distilling it into understandable pieces that can be used to make decisions. It’s fun showing people that although common financial statements are useful, they are universally NOT the only metrics that determine the health of a business. I’m passionate about teaching people and making a case for why other KPI’s need watching. Building processes, charts, and MD&A enriched financials is fun. I nerd-out building SQL queries to extract data and then serve as the Excel guru who can manipulate these extractions. Peace, for me, is found in organizing, improving accuracy, and building efficiencies. Not much brings more joy to me than collaboration and intelligent discourse. Creativity and entrepreneurism have played a big role in my life.Personally: I’m a family man, married for over 20 years with two teenage daughters, a goldfish, a dog, and two cats. I enjoy lots of hobbies including art, music, photography, fly fishing, snowboarding, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, running, playing basketball, playing softball, playing board games, reading books, writing, and watching cinema. In my down time, you can try to find me in the Colorado Rocky Mountains, at or near our little cabin in the woods affectionately known as “Mark’s Happy Place."mark@nassi.org303-248-6285
