From our beginnings in 1749, Kahal Kadosh Beth Elohim (KKBE) has been at the spiritual heart of Jewish Charleston. Since 1841, we have served as the cornerstone of Reform Jewish practice. South Carolina

The Jewish Historical Society of South Carolina (JHSSC) was founded in 1994 in order to study, preserve, and promote awareness of the history and culture of the Jews of South Carolina. With over 500 dues-paying members, the JHSSC meets twice per year, publishes a biannual magazine, and maintains an archive of oral histories and primary documents housed within the Jewish Heritage Collection at the College of Charleston Addlestone Library. In partnership with local communities, the JHSSC sponsors historical markers at sites of Jewish interest. The Society maintains a statewide index of Jewish cemeteries and is currently embarking on a project to document the long and vibrant history of Jewish merchants in South Carolina.

The Yaschik/Arnold Jewish Studies Program aims to serve College of Charleston students and others with an interest in Judaism through offerings emphasizing academics, student life, and community outreach, in order that they may gain a greater understanding of themselves and of their community. The Community Liaison oversees the unique presence of the Yaschik/Arnold Jewish Studies Program within the broader Charleston community, by facilitating all community outreach and programming; serving as liaison to the Program's Advisory Board; researching and securing grant funding, managing the Program's Annual Campaign and facilitating donor stewardship and Major Gift solicitation in conjunction with the College of Charleston Foundation.

Responsible for traveling to 11 partner communities within a 13-state southern region; Designed and lead religious school programs, teacher-training workshops, adult education classes, and religious services; Speak at congregational meetings during periodic visits to each community; Collaborate in designing and writing innovative curricular materials; Plan and lead sessions at annual conference for 150+ educators; Research and write articles distributed monthly to 500+ educators
