About Mark Nunn

I've done a quarter-century or thereabouts of freelance work for UN bodies, NGOs, think tanks, academic institutions and corporate clients – mainly but not exclusively in areas related to public health. In one professional element, I'm a highly experienced writer, technical writer, editor and rapporteur. I'm also a regular member of evaluation teams working under the International Health Regulations M&E framework, and to date I've supported 25 JEE missions in 25 different countries. In another, I'm a founder and the current COO of a global social enterprise called In Tune for Life (www.itfl.org), which works mainly to produce animation, video and music materials for health promotion, health education and improved primary care.In a third, I'm an experienced audio editor and producer, and have recorded and edited a wide range of music, voiceovers and podcasts, including for ITFL, the NHS, the World Health Organization, UNICEF and the University of London. My qualifications include a First Class BA in English Language and Literature from Oxford University (Keble College) and an MSc in health policy, planning and finance, awarded jointly by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) & the London School of Economics (LSE). I've also got an ice driving qualification from TCS in Switzerland; nobody's asked me for that yet, but if I can't mention it here I never will. I consider this last particularly impressive because I passed it in a 1995 Toyota Previa. IYKYK.

ITFL (www.itfl.org) uses professional music and film production to engage and empower the creative talent within communities around the world seriously challenged by poor health and poverty. We produce high quality animation and film material to spec in order help local health professionals improve the health of those who most need it. We are experienced in participatory development of materials, piloting and impact assessments. We also work with talented people in those communities who write culturally adept songs about HIV, malaria, TB and other health risks, and linked issues like stigmatisation and domestic violence. We record, mix, and master these songs, and we help artists and communities design, film and animate video material to accompany them. Then, we produce the music and video in attractive, professional packages for distribution and use by health professionals in their countries of origin and more widely.
  • Csr21.Org
    Director
    Csr21.Org Jun 2012 - Present
    London, United Kingdom
CSR21.org provided news and comment on the commodities, NGO, and international finance sectors, along with relevant geopolitical (risk) news, mapping and markets news. It is a platform for positive discussion, on which everybody with a stake in land citizenship and the extractives industries can express their views. For years the CSR21.org core team has been sensitised to (and annoyed by) some of the ideological barriers between business and third sector types - in both directions. So we built a company operating in that space, with the mission of helping extractives companies to do community relations properly because it will benefit them and their bottom line to do so.CSR21.org provides a space for thought leadership in getting private companies to put their money and - crucially - their energy into developing genuine partnerships with the public sector that really benefit the communities in which they operate.www.csr21.org overview:- Live system to track all the commodities news on the worlds major resource exchanges- Database of quoted companies, where they operate and their disclosed CSR programmes- News on risk, CSR, development aid, government policy in developed and developing world- Interviews with Board Directors on how their companies have successfully managed community consultation and alleviated risk by building support for their activities- NGO matchmaking system: NGOs (charities, aid groups etc) are invited to submit projects that need funding, to be displayed for potential investment by private companies- CSR Microsites: Dedicated CSR microsites built by CSR21 to showcase companies' CSR activities, using video, audio, case studies, articles, & galleries. These sites provide an up-to-date news page for continuing community activities on the ground.
