About Marko Moilanen
I am a developing professional in the field of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), and especially of Human-Centered Design (HCD) and Digital Transformation (DT). I work in INTERACT research group at the University of Oulu as a doctoral researcher. My research unites the HCI, HCD and DT with Disc Golf and sports applications for e.g., forming design principles and holistic design framework. I also serve as a Senior UX Designer and Researcher at Powergrip on a project basis. In my free time, I play disc golf, assist in coaching a junior soccer team, and contribute to a couple of charity projects.

Doctoral Researcher
CurrentDoctoral Researcher in INTERACT research group (ITEE) at the University of Oulu. My doctoral research focuses on disc golf, especially the design and improvement of sports applications. By integrating key design concepts and guidelines from the fields of Human-Computer Interaction, Information Systems, and Design Science, I am designing a framework that addresses the unique expectations, needs, and wishes of disc golf application users. This kind of perspective is called Human-Centered Design, and in addition to that, my thesis also explores the Digital Transformation within the disc golf ecosystem where various stakeholders, such as sports organizations, disc golf industry companies, professional athletes and normal hobbyists meet with different agendas. Although, my work is specific to disc golf, the gained insights hopefully contribute also for larger audience related to the design of sports applications and design in general.
