Frontend Engineer
CurrentWorked for a client based in California, dealing in direct-to-consumer healthcare apparel and lifestyle, collaborated with their internal team on developing their own platform, with traffic of over 4 million visits per month.𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀:• Collaborated with five other team members on the localization project, built a custom language picker from scratch, connected it to Global-E services, kicking off international language support for the entire app. Built new Contentful migrations, updated schemas and added new fields and features. • Refactored the ordering process within the Teams section of the app, made placing an order up to 70% faster, added support for different categories, handled authorization differences between team owners and team members for group orders, separated old code into view components and logic, and built a custom preview mode which enabled owners to see members’ interface without having to sign out.• Updated and built new GraphQL queries to support cursor-based pagination when working with large sets of data, redesigned the data flow, built the UI for both manual navigation and infinite scrolling, updated unit tests and mocked multiple overlapping queries.• Added a series of performance optimizations, bringing down the LCP by 40%; replaced third-party functions with native solutions; implemented a series of accessibility changes across the app, modified Typescript configuration files to support the latest performance-improving properties and functionality𝗧𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀:Primarily used React, Typescript, Next.js and GraphQL, while relying on tools like Storybook, Jira, Figma, Confluence etc. The role also included regular talking to product managers, reviewing code, discussing ideas and potential improvements with coworkers, ensuring that we use scalable, maintainable code that's up-to-date with the latest industry standards etc.
