I am involved in the MimiCart project (Chemelot InScite), within the RegMedXB consortium. My project goals are the development of highly swelling hydrogels and their use for cartilage regeneration.

My project is part of the European Initial Training Network (ITN-SASSYPOL). The aim of the project is to develop novel biocompatible supramolecular hydrogels with improved mechanical properties. In particular, I investigate the role of strong hydrophobic interactions in such systems and study their structure and viscoelastic properties.

During the graduation project, I worked with carbon nanomaterials. The focus was on covalent functionalization of carbon nanotubes (SWNT and MWNT) and their characterization. Finally, the prepared materials were tested for their suitability to interact with neuronal cells, for potential neuronal tissue engineering applications.
