I am currently a Postdoc at the Murawala Lab in Maine, USA. I did my PhD at TU-Vienna, Austria, while working at the Center for Brain Research at the Medical University of Vienna before moving to the USA. The nature of my work was always very interdisciplinary, enabling me to have insight in a variety of research questions from different fields of biology. I have over 9 years of experience working with advanced microscopes ranging from widefield, confocal, 2-Pi, Super resolution and light-sheet systems. I enjoy all kinds of microscopy, however, my main expertise is with custom build light-sheets. I recently (Dec.2022) built in collaboration with a colleague a mesoSPIM light-sheet at the MDIBL, US. For image processing and visualization I use 3D rendering and annotation software like AMIRA (8 years experience) or Imaris (3 Years experience) and deconvolution software like Huygens (2 Years experience) or WienerDeconvolution (a software I am co-Author on a publication from TU-Wien) on a regular basis. In addition to microscopy, I have very strong background in the development of tissue-clearing methods and I am the first and corresponding author on two high impact papers on this topic. Currently I am using my skillset to address question regarding the involvement of peripheral nerves in the Axolotl limb regeneration and the limb size control during this process.
