I am a PhD and MBA qualified academic, business executive and entrepreneur with 30+ years of experience in marketing communications. An award-winning creative director and business strategy consultant in earlier years of my professional life, now I am focusing on business education ranging from doctoral, MBA and master to undergraduate levels.My career spans from early entrepreneurial entry into the advertising industry to building a group of marketing communications agencies and reaching to the top of the national market. Adding a PhD study while managing the business has taught me to prioritize and manage my resources effectively; I have managed to finish my doctoral journey as second in the cohort of international executives at IEDC. My research interest was closely tied to the business reality in the European advertising industry: how to effectively accommodate the perceivably different generation of Millennials and what changes in business leadership behavior this calls for. This research, subsequently published in a book, has further increased my interest in cross-generational leadership and future trends in business.I am relatively well versed in digital skills (for a digital immigrant, though less so from a digital natives perspective). My beliefs include sustainability in business and human behavior; understanding across gender-based, national and religious divides; hard work and meritocracy. I am fluent in English, German, French and Italian; historically also in Serbian/Croatian; native Slovenian. My interests and skills outside of business and academia: licensed private pilot with IFR and multi-engine rating, enthusiastic freeride skier and mountain lover, occasional sailing skipper.
