CIDREE is the Consortium of Institutions for Development and Research in Education in Europe. It is a self-managing network of educational bodies that play a recognised national role in the field of curriculum development and/or educational research. I represent QCDA in CIDREE and work with international colleagues to gather and share research in education.

Member of the senior management team in the Curriculum Programme, a GBP 13 million development programme, with key achievements including:a) delivering extensive engagement programmes with educational stakeholders, and developing effective strategic working relationshipsb) effectively and flexibly managing, developing, enabling and motivating staff including QCDA's regional advisory teamc) developing pioneering public consultation methodologies with a range of partnersd) presenting key research findings nationally and internationally and leading "inspirational" workshops and seminars having developed QCDA's largest cross-phase curriculum evidence base and e) managing extensive budgets and setting strategic goals.

Key achievements included: a) Leading and managing a large department with a substantial budgetb) delivering a significant improvement in pupil results – “The head of science has a clear vision for raising standards…” – OFSTEDc) creating a successful bid to achieve Specialist Science College status – linking industry, university, and local primary schoolsd) pioneering the introduction of numerous new science related courses ande) developing the department with the introduction of virtual learning environments, electronic data analysis and reporting.

Key achievements included:a) Successfully raising funds for, and project managing, the building of the school's first science laboratoryb) using the school's first science equipment to facilitate teacher training and creating links with local schools for staff developmentc) developing creative initiatives in timetabling, staff monitoring and support, and student achievement whilst teaching a full timetable andd) co-organising VSO Cameroon's first national conference for volunteers.
