Most recent project activities involve the Product Validation Testing of cast aluminum rear suspension knuckles. This includes Strength, Durability and Impact Strength of the product and also includes the material properties testing for tensile/yield strengths, fatigue and impact strengths. As these capabilities were not previously available at the facility, I also was responsible for the purchase and installation of the test equipment, learning their operations and instructing co-workers and technicians. Other responsibilities include microscopic analysis of defects and microstructure as well as some failure analysis. Earlier duties included work on new model piston and other product projects for the manufacture of cast aluminum engine components.
