I started my career in the UK construction industry in 1989 working for a consultancy specialising in building weathertightness issues and, since then, have been involved in a wide range of building issues. My experience working on residential, commercial and industrial projects (including hospitals, schools, shopping centres, airports, hotels, offices, single residential dwellings and multi-unit residential buildings) means I’ve come across all sorts of issues and can apply learnings to your case. This means you will get an efficient, cost-effective service. I take an active interest in developments in building science and construction “best practice” to ensure building performance is properly assessed, and solutions to construction failures embrace up-to-date knowledge and techniques. In 2009, I presented a technical paper on construction defects in New Zealand to the Canadian Conference on Building Science and Technology in Montréal.I also authored a chapter of the book titled “The Leaky Buildings Crisis – Understanding the Issues” (Thomson Reuters). This concerns the impact of weathertightness issues on the building industry in New Zealand.
