The bid process gives all organisations a route map to bid and a structured approach to what needs to be achieved at what stage. Working to this bid blueprint means that all people work to the same process and it frees up senior managers to contribute to the bid through reviews rather than writing.Bid Central. By demand from our clients we have developed an intranet-based solution for bid management and the all-important information management that is needed to produce winning bids. This solution will not write your bids but what is does provide is a structured way of organising corporate information that can then be shared and searched by people working on bids.

Responsible for all aspects of project management and development from cost control through to the implementation of the company quality procedures. Developed the concept of an open processing architecture in which a series of processing elements could be incorporated. In particular developed the first European advanced Synthetic Aperture Radar processor. Managed the team across three countries (Canada, Italy and the UK) resulting in a successful project development. Represented the European Commission at several international conferences and seminars presenting developments which increased the project profile and generated international interest.

Integration ManagerNrsc 1991 - 1993Integration manager for the United Kingdom Processing and Archiving Facility (UK-PAF) a ground based facility run by the UK on behalf of the European Space Agency (ESA). Responsible for the complete integration of the processing chains and algorithms into the working environment. The role involved collaboration with industrial and scientific contractors for the development of new and improved software. I was responsible for the successful integration of software modules, prior to satellite launch despite some inherited difficulties with some sub-contractors and the integration and processing ahead of other ESA ground developments. Elements of the UK-PAF were the first to be tested and verified.

DeveloperSoftware Sciences 1988 - 1991Responsible for the design and implementation of modules in a software architecture called AIDA. AIDA was a framework for the development of Artificial Intelligence techniques for Digital Signal processing in an Object Orientated environment working within a blackboard architecture. The project was undertaken as part of a joint collaboration between the UK and USA governments as part of the SDI programme (Star Wars). Mark developed modules for deterministic processing, causal modelling and heuristic reasoning for the interpretation of radar signal returns. These modules are still being used today.
