Markquail Harris is a recent graduate from De La Salle in Towne, where he majored in Culinary Arts. Markquail has exemplified a deep passion and knowledge of the food service industry. He began by learning the basic skills of each component, as he mastered each skill he became more confident in himself. This was when his leadership ability began to come to light. He has earned his Servesafe/ Servesafe Manager Certificates while gaining experience and applying his natural talents. He strives for client satisfaction. His training has made him well versed in developing techniques for food preparation and presentation. He knows how to manage his time so he can expedite food correctly, especially under pressure. Furthermore, he possesses a professional appearance, and is capable of maintaining high standards of sanitization, health and safety. He is extremely capable of evaluating food products to assure freshness and quality, and inspecting supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure compliance to established standards.His passion for the food industry has spilled out into the community. He volunteers his time at MANNA. MANNA is an organization that prepares 3 meals a day for people with terminal and chronic illness. Markquail has helped them prepare the 2,200 meals they distribute a day. Markquail’s leadership skills have landed him a pertinent role on the CORE Team at De La Salle. He utilized his skills and knowledge to exemplify the Sanctuary Model throughout the building. His responsibilities included holding in-services for staff and students, assisting with dismissal and being a mentor to his peers by displaying appropriate behaviors.
