About Mark Boyd
I am a NERC-funded PhD student in the Department of Earth Science and Engineering, Imperial College London. I am affiliated with the Science and Solutions for a Changing Planet (SSCP) Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP) and Imperial's Grantham Institute.My research focuses on planetary and environmental dust-producing processes, their occurrence in the geologic record, and their application to palaeoenvironment and palaeoclimate studies. I use electron microscopy and microanalysis techniques, and have experience with atom probe tomography. I also volunteer with the Meteorite Curation at the Natural History Museum, pursuing interests in planetary science and meteoritics.I am committed to delivering outreach and science communication activities, related to space, planetary and climate sciences.
