As head of the accounting and administration, I oversaw and managed the corporate level accounting and finance as well as the client accounting and financial reporting.At the corporate level I implemented an improved web based accounting system and integrated it with web based payroll and HR systems in order to improve the efficiency of our systems and improve the reporting and analysis capabilities. In addition to the systems upgrades, I reviewed and defined the accounting processes and duties to best align with the current staff and resources which allowed for client growth and increased profitability.In addition to the process improvements I acted in an advisory roll for the President and Owner of the business in all financial matters and played a key roll in securing financing and closing the successful acquisition of a competitor in the Condo Management industry, increasing annual revenues by 169%.My corporate responsibilities also included tax filings, Human Resource management, Insurance, Banking, monthly financial reporting, year end close, budgets, departmental forecasts, and oversight of all other accounting functions.At the operational level I worked to correct and improve the accuracy and functionality of our client ledgers and monthly reports. This included clearing up reconciliation discrepancies going back several years, customizing reports to meet the needs of each client, reconciling out balance sheet accounts, adding processes to track and ensure timely delivery of monthly financials, and reviewing the financials prepared by our assistant controller. In addition I worked directly with the trustees of our clients as needed to answer questions and handle complex special projects as needed to ensure their level of trust in handling their accounting was high.Numerous other duties as needed to ensure the success and financial stability of the company and support the President/Owner.
