I serve as Counsel and Legal Supplier Diversity Program Manager in the Outside Counsel Management Group of the FDIC's Legal Division.My key responsibilities are to provide advice and counsel to the Legal Division's senior management team on the use of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms (MWOLF) for its legal work around the nation, as well as diversity and inclusion matters with our largest majority law firms. I counsel firms on Minority and Women Owned Business (MWOB) participation and usage for firm service providers. As lead program manager, I oversee the Legal Division's supplier diversity initiatives; provide advice to senior management officials regarding changes in statutes or regulations regarding the utilization of outside counsel law firms generally and MWOLFs specifically. I guide firms throughout the outside counsel vetting process and monitor compliance with all applicable directives, regulations, policies and procedures related to the MWOLF program nationwide.I act as the primary liaison between outside counsel, MWOLFs and in-house FDIC attorneys with respect to diversity and MWOLF related issues; I also represent the FDIC in numerous national bar associations and affinity groups that promote equal opportunity for MWOLFs. I develop, implement and manage the supplier diversity framework for the Legal Division across all offices. Additionally, I provide counsel on acquisitions, contracting and constitutional law regarding diversity issues.
