BiographyMy global career in financial services began at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, trading futures and options just after graduate school. A move to London in 1994 prompted me to found a proprietary trading firm, where I traded European interest rate futures and German debt on the L.I.F.F.E. trading floor. Returning to Chapel Hill, I founded my second firm, RH Financial Trading, LLC, trading European index futures electronically through the EUREX exchange. I joined Morgan Stanley Smith Barney in 2006 to apply my knowledge of capital markets to help clients create flexible, wealth management strategies for their investments. Helping them build, preserve, and distribute their wealth is deeply satisfying and more fulfilling than trading futures for myself. I earned my CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation to enhance my service to them along with my Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist℠ designation, held by an elite group within Morgan Stanley.In 2016, I left Morgan Stanley with my team, the Broadview Group, to join a Registered Independent Advisory firm, Phoenix Financial, and affiliate with Raymond James Financial Services. This has been the best career decision of my life. We are a team of 10 fiduciaries offering independent advice.From an early age, I’ve focused on finance and its impact both on the business and personal side. Graduating from Florida State University, I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Business and Finance, and continued to pursue my education, completing the GSL Program in Finance at the University of Chicago.Born in upstate New York, I now live in Hillsborough, NC with my wife, son and two daughters. I am committed to protecting our community’s rich history, having served on the Hillsborough historic committee and restored several homes within the historic district.
