Western Canada (Calgary)

 Accountable for the accurate and efficient delivery of absence and disability management services to our Group Benefits clients in western Canada. Provide overall leadership to our Absence Management, Short-term and Long-term Disability claims teams and western Rehabilitation team, in offices in Vancouver, Calgary and Winnipeg. Accountable for maintaining strong relationships with our disability clients and advisors. Strategic collaboration with our western region sales teams for business development and client retention initiatives.

Calgary

 Accountable for the accurate and efficient delivery of disability claims services to our Group Benefits clients in the Alberta Region. Provide overall leadership to our Short-term and Long-term Disability claims teams in Calgary. Accountable for maintaining strong relationships with our disability clients. Support our regional sales teams with business development and client retention initiatives.

 Responsible for exploration, research, development and marketing of new group benefits products and services Responsible for product management (marketing) of group disability and life products, including analysis of trends in health care, disabilities, absence and disability management. Successfully launched WellConnected® suite of absence and disability management services in April 2006, which have contributed significantly to Group Benefits revenues Successfully launched Group Critical Illness Insurance in May 2007, creating significant profile in Canadian group benefits marketplace and garnering 100 requests for quotes within first month of launch and 8 sales within three months.

 Provided leadership to three Disability Claims teams plus an administration team, led by three Disability Team Leaders. Responsible for Maritime Life’s life and disability claims audit function of a major, full-service Third Party Administrator for Life and Disability Insurance business underwritten by Maritime Life.

 Responsible for day-to-day operations of claims department of 15 staff, including the delivery of Early Intervention services, adjudication and claims management services, as well as internal audit, data tracking and internal and external client reporting. Responsible for Liberty Health’s life and disability claims audit function of a major, full-service Third Party Administrator for Life and Disability Insurance business underwritten by Liberty Health. Contributed to preparation and delivery of presentations for new business, specific to Life and Disability Services. Developed and delivered client education and training presentations. Responsible for staff recruitment and development.
