A member of the Recovery Services Senior Leadership Team who are responsible for implementing and delivering Royal British Legion’s new Recovery Services strategy that will have a real impact on people’s lives.Our strategic ambition is to significantly expand a highly successful service and create new recovery services that support both serving personnel, veterans and their families who may have experienced difficult times.Key responsibilities include:~Identifying commercial and partnership opportunities that will support the new recovery strategy.~Supporting the RBL’s partnership with the Ministry of Defence, to deliver Team UK to The Invictus Games in 2023 in Dusseldorf and 2025 in Whistler and Vancouver.~Developing high profile partnerships with other charities involved in recovery work and organisations from adventurous training, sport, and outdoor recreational sectors.~Leading on the development of multiple RBL Community Activity Hubs in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.~Working with RBL’s procurement and legal teams to lead on the development of all new Recovery contracts, including tendering.

Carnegie Great Outdoors (CGO) is an industry leading provider of outdoor sport and education, adventurous training, and leadership and management development. It delivers an extensive portfolio of events, coaching and training for individuals, educational, sporting, military, charity and business clients across the UK and overseas. Key achievements:~Led CGO to be a financial sustainable and profitable service within Leeds Beckett University, from its first year in 2006, to a highly successful position as a pan-university service provider and externally facing commercial operation.~Identified and developed a broad range of robust income streams including numerous long-term, high-value contracts.~Developed a diverse portfolio of high-quality products and services which were research informed and evidenced, internationally recognised and delivered at scale (25,000+ clients annually) from locations across the UK and overseas. ~Established all aspects of a staffing strategy that maintained a delivery team of over 175 staff who are at the leading edge of developments within their field and could effectively and efficiently meet complex contractual demands. ~Identified and forged innovative and effective partnerships across a range of charities, public and private sector organisations, professional and national governing bodies to maximise development and delivery opportunities.~Led the development and implementation of highly commended policies and procedures relating to delivery of outdoor education, including exceeding all statutory requirements and adhering to non-statutory guidance to evidence absolute best practice.~Consistently ensured close alignment with researchers and academics across Leeds Beckett University evidencing the effective outcomes of CGO delivery and successfully maximising opportunities for research and enterprise activity.

Responsible for the provision of high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across a range of undergraduate, postgraduate and professional programmes. A member of the personal tutorial programme providing support for students in university, on placement and overseas, and a Carnegie Scholarship Sports Mentor to talented athletes. Received the Chancellor's Award in 2006 in recognition of contribution to Outdoor Education at the University.

Provided practical coaching in support of teaching, learning and assessment. Led on the delivery of outdoor residential induction programmes accessed by over 1000 new university students annually and which were highly commended in the Vice Chancellor's Awards in 2003.

A freelance coach and outdoor instructor. Subcontracted for multiple well-established outdoor activity providers and developed a large client base including education, charity and corporate clients.

Responsible for a logistics team, warehousing, vehicles and drivers providing freight services to UK and Europe. The role included complex planning and deployment, with an emphasis on customer service, whilst maximising operating efficiencies and ensuring strict compliance to operator regulations.

Valuation of commercial and residential property for sale and lease purposes. Responsible for delivering against sales and rental income targets. Worked extensively with legal teams and clients on sensitive contract negotiations.
