South Bay Office (San Jose)

Hired by Mill Creek Residential in 2015 to establish a new regional office, assemble project teams and oversee construction of mixed-use luxury residential apartment buildings. Currently responsible for MCRT's South Bay (Silicon Valley) book of business. Pipeline: Modera The Alameda (787 The Alameda) was completed in late 2018 and is fully leased. Modera San Pedro Square will be completed in early 2020. Product types: urban in-fill, type 3 podium, mixed-use, luxury apartments.

Vallejo, Ca

Led the California division of a Seattle based real estate development firm. Overall responsibility for a wide array of project types in the San Francisco Bay Area and provided leadership for multiple development teams. Triad projects included a mixed-use project in Napa with high-end retail, a river walk, boutique hotel and condominium properties; a 15 square block town center redevelopment project with 7 multi-family building sites, and two large master planned communities with innovative sustainability features.

Responsibilities included all aspects of project management on multi-family housing projects. Areas of concentration included predevelopment due-diligence, project financing, site acquisition, project feasibility analysis, government entitlements and construction management. Mark has proven skills in teambuilding, public outreach, controlling costs, negotiation and delivery of multiple LIHTC projects with minimal staff support. Helped JSM grow their business from one project per year to six projects per year and helped the firm develop a reputation for delivering complex projects on time and on budget.

Provided real estate consultation services to the City Attorney, City Manager and City Council. Responsibilities included negotiating acquisition and disposition of real property, identifying potential acquisitions, and preparation of recommendations and due diligence reports. Managed the City’s land portfolio and budget, hired consultants and contracted for services as needed.

Position responsibilities included development and management of multiple redevelopment projects and programs. Reviewed applications for development for a wide variety of commercial projects, including hospitals, hotels, office, retail, bio-med., schools and high tech. Business Ombudsman role involved liaison between Mayors Office and local community and business leaders. Represented the City on multiple regional boards and commissions, including Joint Venture Silicon Valley Network, the Chamber of Commerce, Area Economic Development Committee, Project Review Committee, and Permit Streamlining Project.
