As the Chief Operating Officer for Epitec, I aim to improve. I am responsible for tactical and strategic decisions that support the needs of our employees and our customers. Our vision is to be a premier IT, engineering, and professional staffing organization that people want to work for and companies want to do business with.One of my strengths is recruiting. With the help of many great minds and team members, I have participated and led innovative solutions that have brought improvements to recruiting and all aspects of operating Epitec.In my current role, I am focusing on operational excellence, problem solving and efficiency. Taking everything that it is we do and make it friction-less, intuitive and easier. Plus, expand across the country. On a personal note, I have always dreamed of building the world’s tallest skyscraper. I have not had a chance to do it yet, but I strive to help Epitec reach new heights. Since 1997, Mark has made significant contributions to a wide variety of business areas from accounting, finance, operations, technology, benefits, human resources, recruiting and delivery. Throughout his career at Epitec, Mark Ruma's innovative solutions have brought improvement to all aspects of operating Epitec from quantitative functions to the complexity and dynamics of sales. In his current role, he is focusing on bolstering fiscal and technology infrastructure capabilities as Epitec continues to expand both its revenue growth and product lines. By helping to lead a mapping process across all business functions, he incubated proprietary software systems. The support portal developed under his leadership makes it easy for employees in the field to have 24/7 access to the entire headquarters support team structure. The streamlining and cost savings that resulted from these proprietary assets set Epitec ahead of the competition.

Leading and managing the recruiting effort, which includes insuring that Epitec has the appropriate number of trained and productive recruiters in order to properly respond to our client's orders. This also includes leading, managing and continuing to develop the Recruiting Academy so that the Academy's curriculum produces the type of recruiters that will service our clients as they expect.Review and analyze the performance of the Delivery teams in order to take appropriate action or make recommendations to management in order to meet the predetermined goals of each customer. i.e. weekly, period, quarterly metrics.Participate with the Delivery Team by continuing to build solid productive relationships within the delivery teams between recruiters and the account managers.Provide leadership while solving business problems by making recommendations and executing directives that impact the future state of the Company. Mark Ruma held the position Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for The Epitec Group, headquartered in Detroit, Michigan between 2001 and 2005. Mark joined the company in 1997. In this role he controlled and maintained Epitec’s fiscal and technology infrastructures. In part, this responsibility involved managing the day-to-day operations of his support team in technology, finance, benefits and human resources. Among his important contributions to the company have been his leadership in the development and implementation of the Epilink™ Web-based time and expense application, the Epilink™ billing program, the Dealmaker internal quoting application and Job Order Tracking system and the implementation of the Microsoft Great Plains Accounting System within the company. He was instrumental in development of the support portal and the support team structure.
