A limited company with a turnover of £6m. Responsible for increasing the number of distribution clients and key retail account management. Within the first 3 months successfully introduced a new gift distribution client whilst increasing growth through key accounts such as Waterstones & The Book Depository.

Responsible for the delivery of the £6m sales and marketing strategy to re-establish Trust Media Distribution as a UK wholesaler of books and gift through a customer service team and 6 sales representatives.The changing environment of book retailing demanded stringent management of costs and margin whilst creating new channels to market.

A company limited by guarantee and a registered charity with a turnover of £40m and 500 employees. I had responsibility for the construction and delivery of the business development strategy with stringent financial targets imposed. The 2009 target was archived in the first 6 months.

A member of the senior management team reporting directly to the CEO with responsibilities for: Trade sales to 2,000 booksellers worth £23m.  Identifying and working with new and existing accounts that would deliver growth. Managing a seven man sales team. The Marketing Department with the objective of ensuring the department was cost neutral. Contract Distribution Clients.

Responsible for retaining UK & European distribution customers worth £12.5m annually. This portfolio remained within my remit until February 2009 during which time all contracts that came up for renewal were resigned new contracts gained.

Having completed an Executive MBA I was tasked with making the marketing department cost neutral whilst maintaining creativity. This was successfully delivered within 12 months through a combination of cost management and increasing sales.

Using my retail background and administrator skills, I initiated and coordinated the delivery of both trade and consumer promotions that were delivered on time and on budget.

Created and developed Wesley Owen Direct, a start up B-2-C operation using self taught direct marketing techniques.
