Have worked in civilian government 32 years starting at Bureau of Reclamation as a Civil Engineer, becoming a Hydraulic Engineer, followed by IT Application Software Specialist to IT Project Manager within the Denver Office under the Chief Information Officers office.Through career development I moved into a Management Position within the Department of Labor's Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) under the Health & Safety Branch supporting MSHA application services.Throughout my career have used technology to enhance engineering design and simplify analysis of engineering information. Under the Information Technology division at Reclamation have managed, install, configured, tested and maintained enterprise technologies such a WebSphere, FileNet Content Service,P8 Content Manager, IBM DB2 Document Manager, IBM DB2 Records Manager, Infolinx system solutions and in-house government developed systems.Fast Forward I now oversee programs in Quality Assurance, Web Team and Support Services. Have also overseen program areas for Mine Emergency Operations (Satelitte and VoIP services) and Office of Injury and Employment Information. Technologies utilized are Tricentis qTest (formerly QA Symphony), Microfocus Unified Functional Testing and Open Text EDocument system.it is my opportunity now to give back through leadership, all the knowledge and wisdom I have accumulated over my career, to staff within my organization assisting them in achieving their career goals.

Civil EngineerBureau Of Reclamation May 1989 - Apr 1995This is where I started my government career in May of 1989 as a Civil Engineer.My primary duty station was in Denver, Colorado in the Engineering and Research center known as the Water Conveyance Branch.Culvert Design, Retaining Walls, Sheet Pile Wall, and drainage ditches for canal systems were the primary design work that I was involved with.Reviewed and approved changes of construction contractor's proposal for engineering design changes to concrete pipe design for the construction phase of the project.Draftsman for engineering drawings. (AutoCAD and CALMA CADD were the electronic tools used to create the engineering drawings for Reclamation)Was mechanical engineer inspector for construction project located in Red Bluff, CA for 3 months as part of the Bureau of Reclamation Rotation Engineer program. Primary job was to oversee assembly of 22 foot diameter drum screens and that Reclamation specifications were being followed by the contractor.
