Mr. Samuels is a serial entrepreneur, angel investor and seasoned senior executive with an extensive background in product development, sales/marketing, operations and capitalization for both public and private companies. In 2018, Mr. Samuels completed the sale of OBMedical Company to Philips Medical achieving a successful turn around and significant financial exit for the investors. OBMedical Company was a Florida based fetal monitoring startup company that had a failed product launch attempt in 2015 after expending about $5 million in capital. Improved evaluation leads to better outcomes through the timely and appropriate intervention to reduce preterm birth complications. Pretel is also conducting research on methods to help physicians better objectively adjust Oxytocin (Pitocin) dosage during labor. A surgeon can improve cancer margin visualization in real time during surgery to make sure no cancer is left in the patient. LumaMed was financed with an SBIR Phase I and angel investors.
