Profile bio

About Mark Satin

I am a Harvard-, Google-, and Udemy-certified Software Engineer who adds exceptional value in both high-level design meetings and daily scrums. I began my journey in the tech world 3.5 years ago when I came across David J. Malan's Introduction to Computer Science course online. By the end of the first lecture I was hooked, and today I am proud to say that I bootstrapped myself into the software industry by analyzing existing curricula and building out my own (free) program that earned me entry into Revature's coveted pay-to-place bootcamp and eventually my first engineering job at Infosys.Early in my career I gained valuable insight into the level of organization that is required to deliver complex software products built by distributed teams. As the Operations Analyst at MoonVu I not only conceived of the Summer Internship program, but vetted hundreds of university students before hiring twenty and teaching them how to train an ML model to recognize various types of Teslas in different environmental conditions. Over three months this initiative led to a 3x increase in processed data and a 68% increase in ML accuracy. At Revature I was lucky enough to own functionality for pieces of employee reimbursement, consumer banking, and social media apps across the stack. At Infosys I leveraged my experience with Java and Spring Boot to join a project where I horizontally scaled pieces of a consumer banking application by splitting the monolithic architecture into Dockerized microservices managed by Kubernetes, Grafana, and Kafka. This directly led to 10x more users being able to access the system at once and resulted in a 60% drop in system downtime. My combined experience as a manager and engineer has led me to develop an appreciation for all roles - technical and otherwise - that are required to successfully deliver a software product to stakeholders. As such I love the work at each stage of development, from harnessing the initial spark of an idea and discussing use cases with product owners to wireframing user journeys in Figma, coding type-safe UI components to be reused across teams, and building out secure cloud-based microservices that can handle application traffic at scale. My strong attention to detail and ability to quickly switch between a variety of business and programming contexts means that I can quickly onboard to your project and visualize complex data flows at all stages of the CI/CD pipeline.Thank you for taking the time to read about my journey. I can't wait to learn how I can apply my experience to your next project!

Listed skills include Film Production, Final Cut Pro, Film, Short Films, and 28 others.
