Leading a team of Controllers and Analysts, I set the strategy and direction for Accounting & IT functions across Company. Additionally, I oversaw the Risk Management function, covering all insurance, safety and Workers' Comp programs.Collaborating closely with key executives and managers, we evaluated the requirements necessary to improve operations and drive earnings. As part of this effort, we restructured reporting, analysis, and forecasting processes to enhance understanding of results, margins, and variances. I redefined the processes for analyzing customer and SKU profitability, creating models to support Sales team in their decision-making process.One of my key responsibilities was ensuring a robust internal control environment for the company. Working with our Auditors, Accounting Team, and Operations group, we redefined key responsibilities across the organization. Our efforts culminated in a set of recommendations for the Audit Committee, resulting in a revised internal control matrix to be implemented company-wide. I also spearheaded multiple projects aimed at evaluating and improving critical processes related to receiving and bulk inventory management. These operational changes ensured accurate counts and seamless entry into our ERP system.Collaborating with the CEO, I developed a strategic capital structure policy. This policy prioritized investments, reinvestments, and shareholder distributions. It provided clear guidance on capital expenditures, taking into account tax liabilities and working capital requirements.Furthermore, I led the evaluation and modeling of a strategic acquisition of a Southeast plant to enable the Company to meet its future growth goals. This involved creating a comprehensive business plan that outlined the necessary investments, capital funds required, and the potential impact on loan covenants. Our analysis also considered the expected return on investment, ensuring alignment with our overall corporate strategy.
