Formerly - Reader in Music and Creativity at the University of the Highlands and Islands. The role involved the development of the music portfolio across the network of partners and working closely with colleagues to develop the research and knowledge exchange culture and activity at the University. Employed by the Executive Office in Inverness the remit extended across the geographical area of the Highlands and the Islands from Argyll in the south west to Shetland and Orkney in the North and from the Western Isles to Moray in the east. We introduced the UHI Applied Music degree in 2012 and the MA Music and the Environment in 2013. The research strategy developed involves three initial strands- performance practice; online collaboration and pedagogy; and community music. Latterly Interim Director at the Centre for Rural Creativity, based in Shetland.
